Walk La Bellone

An explorative walk through electro magnetic public soundscapes in the center of Brussels.

Bombed by invisible electromagnetic fields, we are drifting inside our bodies in mutation. Imperceptible movements of our acting environment, unforseeable consequence and metamorphoses to come.

Beyond the simple report and the scientific analysis, or beyond the activist position, electromagnetic drifts are a proposal to take position on observing and listening to this invisible phenomenon surrounding us everyday. We let the electromagnetic activity lead our walk, we are crawling in the city looking for magnetic waves transformed into audio signals.

Armed with EMF antenna’s, simple copper-wire loops which are able to pick up and receive signals broadcasted by any electr(on)ic source, and with portable amplifiers, we are crossing the city, attracted by the discovery of invisible energy sources, producing any type of frequencies, rhythms and other granular sounds.

To loose oneself in the city, listen to singing machines and objects, and mark the different electromagnetic fields observed by signs/notations, are the main actions of the urban drifter.
